Bethlehem Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist Church established to teach and preach the Gospel of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
We believe the Scripture of the Old & New Testaments and that they were written by men divinely inspired and that they are the perfect treasure of heavenly instruction.
We believe there is one and only one true and living God, whose name is Jehovah, the Maker and supreme Ruler of the heavens and earth.
Pastor Bill has a rich history of dedicated service and leadership within the church community. In 2019, he became acquainted with Bethlehem Baptist Church in Pine Mountain Valley, Georgia, initially seeking to join as a member. Little did he know that his visit coincided with a significant transition, as the previous pastor of ten years had recently retired. Quickly becoming involved, he began filling the pulpit on a temporary basis. Within weeks, he assumed the role of interim Pastor and eventually received a formal call to serve as the full-time Pastor in May 2020, amidst the challenges of the pandemic. The journey has been both rewarding and eventful.
Prior to his tenure at Bethlehem Baptist Church, his journey in ministry began in 2002 at County Line Church in Warm Springs, Georgia. Answering God's call after a 33-year career in the secular corporate world, he accepted the responsibility of shepherding a small congregation of 12 individuals. Over the years, he diligently led Bible studies, delivered gospel messages during worship services, and ministered to the community. Under his guidance, the church experienced significant growth, reaching a membership of 190 with an average of 225 attendees each Sunday for Sunday School. As the Pastor, he oversaw the hired church staff and the entire membership, undertaking various roles to fulfill the ministerial call.
His educational journey includes a High School diploma from Hillsborough High School, Tampa, Florida, in 1963. In 1983, he completed 68.5 hours of college credits from The Business University of Tampa and Tampa College. In 1986, he studied and received the official designation of Certified Manager from James Madison University. Beyond his pastoral responsibilities, he has actively contributed to community service, serving as the president of the Ruskin/Apollo Beach Rotary Club in 1994/1995 and receiving the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow award in 1998.
